Archiving

Jurnal Mediasas: Media Ilmu Syariah dan Ahwal Al-Syakhsiyyah is committed to supporting the long-term availability, accessibility, and preservation of its published scholarly articles. This policy aims to maintain the continuity of the scholarly record and reduce the risk of content loss resulting from technical disruptions, data damage, changes in publishing infrastructure, or interruptions to the journal website.

  1. Article Archiving and Access

Articles published in Jurnal Mediasas are accessible through the journal's official website at https://journal.staisar.ac.id/index.php/mediasas. Published articles and issues are organized by volume, issue, and year of publication in accordance with the archive structure available on the journal website.

The journal management strives to maintain access to published articles and their bibliographic information for authors, readers, researchers, and the academic community. In the event of access disruptions, the journal management will make reasonable efforts to restore access in accordance with its technical capabilities and available resources.

  1. Digital Preservation and Archiving Services

Jurnal Mediasas supports digital preservation practices to help maintain continued access to scholarly publications. Third-party digital preservation services, such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), and the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), may serve as additional preservation mechanisms if the journal meets the applicable requirements and successfully activates the relevant service.

Information regarding Jurnal Mediasas's participation in any digital preservation service will be stated only when its status has been confirmed and can be verified. If the journal does not currently use a third-party digital preservation service, this limitation will be communicated transparently, and the policy will be updated when a service is activated.

  1. Data Backup and Recovery

The management of Jurnal Mediasas strives to support publishing continuity through backup and recovery practices appropriate to the journal's technical infrastructure. Data requiring protection may include article files, publication metadata, and system data necessary for the journal's operations.

The frequency of backups, backup storage locations, and recovery procedures depend on the technical arrangements and infrastructure services used by the journal management. In the event of technical disruption or data loss, the journal management will make reasonable efforts to restore content using available backup copies.

  1. Author Self-Archiving

Jurnal Mediasas supports the dissemination of scholarly work through author self-archiving, subject to the journal's applicable copyright and publication licensing policies.

Authors may deposit and disseminate the published version of their articles (Version of Record) in institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, or personal websites where permitted by the applicable license and the journal's publication terms. Where permitted, self-archiving may take place without an embargo period.

Deposited articles must retain their publication information, journal name, and applicable licensing information. Authors are also encouraged to provide a complete citation and an active DOI link to the official version of the article on the journal website, where a DOI is available.

Self-archiving and subsequent reuse must comply with the applicable copyright and licensing terms. If an article is subject to a correction, update, expression of concern, or retraction, authors are encouraged to update the information accompanying the deposited copy and link to the journal's official notice.

  1. Long-Term Accessibility and Publication Updates

Jurnal Mediasas strives to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record, including bibliographic information and published article files. If a publication is subject to a correction or retraction, the relevant information will be communicated through the journal's official notification mechanisms in accordance with its editorial policies.

If the main website becomes inaccessible, the journal management will make reasonable efforts to restore the service and, where available, provide alternative access to archived content. The availability of alternative access depends on the existence of archived copies and the supporting infrastructure.

  1. Policy Review and Updates

This Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy will be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing technology, digital preservation standards, copyright policies, and best practices in scholarly journal management.

Any significant changes concerning archiving systems, digital preservation services, data backup, or author self-archiving requirements will be reflected in updates to this policy.
